  • Niantic hasn’t announced the arrival of the Alolan Rattata (and its evolution Raticate). However, it has been seen live in various parts of the world.

  • A new mode in Splatoon 2 has been sighted by data hackers entitled “Eight-Ball”.  Nintendo has not yet implemented this mode in Splatoon 2, and may never do so. The aim of this ranked mode is to provide a virtual soccer game. Two goals are placed on opposite sides of the map with an eight-ball appearing in the center of the stage. The objective is simple: push the ball towards the enemy’s goal by shooting at it with ink. If it reaches the goal platform, it’s considered a knockout.
  • Hackers have managed to allow custom pictures to use as your Switch profile icon. Not such a big problem, but this image is visible to other players in Super Mario Odyssey’s Balloon World mode – and some hackers have reportedly been using pornographic images as their profile pictures.

  • If you love the tate mode that games like Ikaruga, Mutant Mudds Mudd Blocks, and Pinball FX3 embrace then you’ll love the Flip Grip. A Kickstarter project that demolished its $42,500 goal. There are still over two weeks remaining in the campaign with around $60,000 raised thus far.
  • A new @NintendoUKVS Live: London event has been announced.  It’s taking place on July 28 and July 29 at the Royal Horticultural Halls.  It will play host to the first official qualifier for the Splatoon 2 UK Championship 2018 series, as well as the first chance for folks in the UK and Ireland to go hands-on with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

  • Highly anticipated brawler ‘Pocket Rumble’ has finally secured a Switch release date. It’s now more than a year after it was originally announced during a Nintendo Direct, publisher Chucklefish has confirmed that the fighter is slated for July 5.
